Originally designed for use as a tiffin, this pot is food-grade stainless and (apparently) safe to cook in. Not to be a whole nerd about it but, based on my experience trying out multiple camping brands’ cookware, it has far superior pouring capabilities compared to the MSR Alpine. That’s important if you, like me, are going to be boiling water at just about every meal while you’re camping/backpacking in order to make oatmeal, noodles, tea, coffee, and the like. Snaps shut, which makes it nice and compact. I do think it’s helpful to have something like a reusable silicone cable tie handy in order to temporarily wrap around the lid handles and keep them upright while you’re cooking, to avoid risking a burn while lifting off the lid.
I don’t really use the inner compartment, instead preferring to store my camp stove and matches/lighter inside the pot, but you totally could.
