Here is a picture of passionfruit (well, technically more like 8-10 passionfruits emptied out into a jar) I gleefully ate on an 11-hour flight a few years ago. I’ve also brought mangos and chopped them in half with a flight attendant-provided disposable knife, then spooned out the halves like jello. You could definitely do similar with any fruit you love. Fresh fruit is nice because it does last long enough out of the fridge to get through security and on the plan, but equally you’ll eat it before you arrive to your destination so you don’t have to worry about any special customs rules for fresh produce. Plus it’s so helpful to have a change-up from stodgy starches and heavier fare that’s usually offered inflight (if anything is).
