What I Talk About When I Talk About Running
Recommended by Amanda Christenbury
I recommend this book as often as I can - and I say this as a person who is not a runner. I love it for his trademarked sparse prose and how it’s not so much about running (even though it is!) but about finding motivation for things that matter to you even when you’re tired or in a rut.

“I read about running a lot more than I actually run. This is one of my favorites - good advice for running, writing, and life.”
