I have six different emails I use for six different purposes:
1) My "real" email that I give to friends
2) An email just for social media accounts
3) An email just for professional purposes - NOT my employer-provided one
4) An email just for shopping - but NOT banking
5) An email for banking/sensitive stuff
6) A catch-all for anything else
We all know that companies track our activity across websites in order to target ads, mark our behavior, etc and our email addresses can be used for this, too! By using separate email addresses for different purposes you'll make it much harder for advertisers and bad actors to get your information and potentially be able to get their hands on your money.
It'll also help reduce spam and identify who might be selling your info to other companies.
Combine with a password manager and a privacy-focused browser for maximum protection.
