Idk if these count as professional pants for you, but I have two pairs and wear them all the time for work (with sweaters or button-up shirts to cover the elastic waist) — they fall really nicely, are thick cotton, so comfortable. My favorite is the undyed natural color (pictured)

Ah shoot sorry!!! I have a 5’2” friend who loves hers but I guess maybe she wears the standard ones and they fit like the long ones (they hit me like 3” above my ankle and I’m 5’5”). But yes they should better serve the shorties!
