Alone with You in the Ether by Olivie Blake

The first time I read this, I was going through a breakup. Decade long relationship, coming away from it trying to process where I was emotionally and how to continue the process of creation as a writer. I think that Regan and Aldo are insufferable but deeply imperfect people (after all, this book is kind of about bipolar disorder?)

I think it’s intense in parts and isn’t for everyone (it reads young, also which I think the story needed!) but I think the hot-cold-empty-manic cycle the characters go through helped me start to do some personal introspection - and the version of myself who needs to mourn for what I lost past the obvious.
