I'm a poetry person but am stumped: poems for a funeral for someone very old after a long-awaited death? everything feels either unserious or too overwrought

70th birthday family trip destinations! My dad is turning 70 at the end of March, and we want to go on a family trip. It will be my parents’ 40th anniversary a bit later, so a nice time to celebrate. There will be 7 or 8 adults and four children (6, 4, 3, and infant). We generally like getting a large VRBO/AirBnB with a good kitchen, and folks are open to international with direct flights from Chicago. Please share your favorite destinations or specific homes that can accommodate a large family. We’ve traditionally enjoyed beach vacations in Sanibel/Captiva and Watercolor, Florida or Hilton Head, but beach is not required.

Off-the-beaten path beach daytrip from NYC? Over the 4th, my boyfriend and I have the same weekend off for the first time in our relationship, and I want to take the car to the beach. Can we improve on Robert Moses? Is Fisher’s Island too unfriendly? He is a New Yorker who holds a mysterious childhood grudge against our area beaches so I’d love to find a new option to try.

Best travel snacks? Like the kind from home. My usual is apples, olives, cheese and crackers, and a little chocolate, but I’m interested in diversifying this week.

Where are women buying swimwear that isn’t overly practical but is still fit for the ocean? A little sexy but not a thong bottom?? Is it just a maillot?!
