liking myself

At a party this weekend, I explained that I’ve never had a problem being single because I like hanging out with myself. I genuinely think this is the most important part of my life and is good for my body and everything else it could possibly be good for.
I'm not awesome in so many ways, but I let that go with other people so why not with myself?
I like going out to dinner with me. I like watching a movie with me. I like doing a jigsaw puzzle with me. I like going to the beach with me (pictured). I like traveling with me. I’m really great, and I’m lucky to spend time with myself.

I love this so much. When I was 32 I realized I was queer and separated, immediately dove into another relationship and that ended two years later. After that I realized I had never been single for more than 2 months since I was 16. I took a six month “hidateus” to fall in love with myself. It absolutely was the best thing I’ve ever done, and it indeed worked - I really adore my own company

it's so wonderful to have that relationship first. i was single for over a decade in my 20s and 30s and am wildly grateful
