This picture is incredible, but my favorite thing about Allen Ginsberg’s original/editioned photographs are his long, handwritten captions. Such a dream of mine to own one!

Yes, this was taken from his back window in the East Village at 437 E. 12th St. where he lived from 1975-1996. Isn't it just magical?

Yes, the trees in the photo are trees of heaven (Ailanthus altissima) which tend to grow like a weed here between the buildings, especially downtown where the scale is smaller and you can see more sky. The East Village is especially green, we have many community gardens built on top of vacant lots!
