Helenium autumnale is a brilliant plant with a hilarious name that brings so much pollinator joy to the late summer garden. On a sunny day, our patch is absolutely mobbed by insects of all stripes. It’s a cheerful presence that goes so beautifully with the goldenrods, ironweeds and asters of this time of year.
