Every Noise at Once
Created by Glenn McDonald, former data alchemist and genre taxonomist at Spotify, this is a website with an amalgamation of songs from every genre you could think of (literally thousands of them).
Great for if you’re in a music funk. I’ve been enjoying going to a random genre and listening to the songs from it. Although genres are pretty fluid these days, this website reminds me of the millions of songs out there to discover - and how they can in fact be sorted by hyper niche genres

“I love this website. It is so good for music discovery. It's basically a giant map of every musical subgenre and every artist in it. I have nothing to say except that it completely rocks my socks off. They stopped updating it in 2024, but I still visit REGULARLY. Could browse for hours.”

“Until 2024, Spotify categorized every bit of its music into a very specific tree of genres, and one of the engineers responsible for that categorization maintained an amazing interactive site describing them all. Best of all, there are samples of everything. The site is still up and working, even if the taxonomy has stopped being refreshed. It is vast. It’s a remarkable place to spend an afternoon”
