I was just in a shop in Copenhagen where this was playing and when the chorus kicked in, everyone shopping started singing it and then we laughed at ourselves because we were ALL Americans. It’s just so good though!

Stop I love this
@jmduncan
Maybe the chorus it’s most impossible *not* to sing along with? (Possible competition off the top of my head: Sweet Caroline, We Will Rock You)
@aphoenix
I was going to say: stiff competition with Sweet Caroline! The American Pie one comes back around so often though that you just keep doing it because you’re sure you’ll get all the words out perfectly next time round… and by the end, you’re right!
@annermay
I can also vouch for it killing at karaoke, even though it is loooong
@katieforte
One in which if on and I arrive at my destination, I will sit in the driveway not willing to turn the car off before it’s over!
