An easier way to remove gel nail polish

I will usually only get gel nails for special occasions. Taking them off is the worst and I refuse to go spend more time and money to have them removed. The whole cotton pads with aluminum foil scam doesn’t work for me, but this random queen’s TikTok did. Soak with warm water, Dawn, olive oil, acetone 20ish mins. Lifts off smoothly with a cuticle tool. Some filing of the top polish layer before soaking also helps. Minimal damage.
