Espadrilles

No need to improve on a classic. They’re comfortable and mold to your feet over time, they feel and look cool with everything in the summer, and they’re not so precious that you have to stress about getting them dirty. I prefer the classic flats made with jute for the sole and canvas for the upper. If you peel off any remaining rubber on the bottom when they’re done, you can compost them!

My favorites are from Diego’s, made in Spain. Buy them one size smaller than your usual, they’re supposed to be a little tight before your feet mold the footbed.
