The Commonsense Kitchen: I love this book by a guy who used to run the kitchen at Deep Springs College. It’s my go to for basic baking — great pancakes, biscuits, etc etc — but has all kinds of handy simple and delicious recipes.

How to Cook Everything Vegetarian: I love having a physical copy of this (which I got used)! There are also editions for omnivores, vegans, and one for baking. I just pulled it out yesterday to make tapenade!
