There's Always This Year (Hanif Abdurraqib)
$20
Here's a situation where I was reading the book, then switched to audio, then listened while looking at the physical book (which I ended up buying). Abdurraqib is a poet so the delivery of his own words was incredible. It's about basketball but it's also about leaving home and going home and losing and loss and heartbreak and childhood and nostalgia and the midwest and gold and hair and love and longing and yeah Ohio basketball.

There's Always This Year: On Basketball and Ascension
James
“Love and grief, basketball and growing up, prose and poetry. It's about living in a place, and staying in a place, that outsiders look down on, because it’s the place you and your people have made your home, and you love it, and why would you want to leave that, why should you be expected to want to leave that?”

“Spring equals March Madness, and this book about basketball (& life, & love, & struggle) marries poetry, prose, and non-fiction like only Abdurraquib can.”
