A shot in the dark (with pun very intended): I just finished the book Nightfaring by Megan Eaves-Egenes and it ended up being more memoir than I was expecting. I'm looking for books about the concept of darkness in the literal sense (the history of darkness, night, unlit spaces, etc... and how it has been conceived of and depicted over time). Any recs?
