This cookbook is out of print - and strangely enough some of the best ones are - proof that cookbook publishing has a side of BS, but I digress. A few of my favorite recipes: Ham Hock & Cabbage Soup (cabbage forever); hot chocolate (THE ONLY HOT CHOCOLATE RECIPE IMO); the egg on focaccia Sammie, and so many others. Furthermore, this and the DIMES cookbook are the only “restaurant cookbooks” I trust and cook from. All others feel like a legacy box checked. Though please write me with other restaurant cookbooks you like…would love to be proven wrong. Find a copy and enjoy.

Usually this is my stance on restaurant cookbooks too and I fully agree with you on Saltie!!! I found my copy because of your rec who knows how long ago. My newest “restaurant” book that I actually think is INCREDIBLE is the new Lost Kitchen book. I went to look for it at a bookshop yesterday because I was skeptical and it’s soooo cookable.
