Amanda Montell is a linguist and a literary genius! This book is about the linguistic foundation of the English language and how it is developed around a patriarchal society. I did a podcast episode with her and learned so much about the historical implications of our words!! She’s also the sweetest person ever!

Reclaiming words is a powerful practice, even beyond identity groups. As a humanity, we started to reclaim words such as "bad" or "badass" a while ago... and the next generation might reclaim words like "sad", "loser", "weak", "I'm powerless" that still restrict a lot of people from their aliveness.
