Rescue the Dead by David Ignatow

I don’t think I can choose a single favorite poem (though if I had to, it would probably be The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock). But this is one of my favorites. It’s a poem I’ve read hundreds of times, and I still regularly change my mind about whether the poet counts himself as one who needs rescuing or not.
