Mendo has a reputation for being foggy and cold, but time your visit right and it has the most perfect beach weather. End of summer, it’s got a sub-tropical weather vibe.

Jug Handle Beach is one of my favorite little Mendo coves- protected from the big waves of the Pacific, soft sand, lots of tide pools. All around perfection.
