I hate having my photo taken and hate being told what to do and am generally just a super specific type of girl. All of this has lead to me being the only employee on my company's website without a headshot. I think this is maybe wrong of me lol. SOOOOO do any of you have recs for taking your own headshots or people in the chicagoland area that might make a wolf like me feel professional fish?

Tripod behbeh: I too hate having my picture taken so for my headshot I took matters into my own hands. Sorry for the Amazon link but this is the best thing and it's less than $30 and it will save you from awkward photographer nonsense.

Find a background that works for you - could be outside in a pretty garden, the lobby of your office building, or the plain white wall in your kitchen. Set up your new tripod, don't forget to wear something nice. If you don't want to smile, don't smile, make it artsy!

Don't take ONE picture, take a BUNCH. Then use your iPhone filters to adjust it. I'd try to get in some good lighting first, but you can also futz with it in post.
