Book Color Inspiration - Volume 1 | Papier Tigre: I leave this color inspiration book in my closet. When in need of ideas : I pick up one garment (top or bottom) and then with its color I flip through the book (at the colorimetric index) and see which colors it recommends and find a garment in the closet that is close enough.

It helped me in trying new combinations or clothing I forget to wear, and having fun!

Figuring out how to wear that weird thing you bought: The “something i always wear/something i never wear” outfit formula is a useful tool. literally just pairing something low-risk and beloved with “that thing i have never figured out how to wear out of the house.” The magic is, you’ll harness the confidence from your trusted favorite and it’ll outweigh (or at least neutralize) any intimidation you feel about wearing The Weird Thing. So you don’t feel uncomfortable and crazy all day. Try it!

Pinterest board seasonal wardrobe: I like to search for outfits with a specific item I already own and see all the ways it can be styled. So like “midi leopard skirt work outfits for fall”- I usually see a few ideas with stuff I already own that I wouldn’t have thought of.

Play dress up: Make an evening/day of trying on a bunch of outfits, without anywhere to go. Put on a TV show, movie, or music to keep it chill. You'll come up with combos you wouldn't have tried before and you'll be reminded of pieces you've forgotten. (And possibly determine which items are ready to sell/donate). Take photos of the outfits you like, so you can reference later!
