Got into gardening a few years ago after I moved back to the midwest (zone 6a) and bought a house. This year I went hard on the rose bushes. I originally bought two which, turned into 3, then doubled to six. Bought the Lady of Shalott randomly at a gardening center, as my husband liked the color. Personally didn't think I would be that into an orange rose, but boy was I surprised. Planted it in a not-so sunny portion of my garden (maybe 4 hrs of sun) next to a fence, and not only was it was by FAR the most prolific bloomer and grower, it also is most gorgeous color. Starts kinda salmon-y pink, turns orange, and ends a more pale apricot color. Big fan, and since it's also a climber, can't wait to see how big it gets next year. Hoping it covers a portion of the fence eventually.

“I admit, I planted this years ago because of my love for Anne of Green Gables. I was on a wistful journey to grow a sentimental garden (I also planted Roald Dahl roses but they didn’t make it, and Emily Brontë roses…she also succumbed to a harsh NY winter). This rose, my god, I could sit and smell her all day. I also love her rich apricot petals.”
