Orcas Island Pottery
Beautiful pottery in a beautiful location! Run by the third and fourth generations of the same family, this studio is an Orcas fixture. It sits amongst a lush garden overlooking the ocean where you'll find pottery not only inside, but arranged across picnic tables and tucked throughout the grounds.

Now Blooming: Corpse Flower
Go test your olfactory senses. Odora and Odorysseus, a rare pair of Titan Arums or Corpse Flowers, are now blooming at Los Angeles’ Huntington Gardens. The Corpse Flower is the world's largest unbranched inflorescence (one giant stalk holding thousands of flowers) with a famously horrific odor (a potpourri of sweaty socks and rotting meat). The bloom only opens for 24-48 hours and happens every two to three years. P.S. If you’re not in LA (or aren’t brave enough to endure the stench), you can watch Odora bloom via livestream.

Why Women Grow
This podcast is such a delight. Alice Vincent speaks to creative women from all walks of life about what draws them to "go to ground." Each episode takes place in the guest's garden, so you get the pleasure of hearing the local birds and bees in the background. But gardening is just an entry point for a more nuanced conversation about navigating life, work, and creativity. Click through to my favorite episode, Jamaica Kincaid on gardening as writing.

Heather Levine Ceramics
The quality of light cast by Heather's pendants is playful and warm. The cut-outs throw fun patterns across the walls, and the shade opening still provides enough light for tasks. Her glazes are all visually harmonious, so mixing and matching is easy.
