My Rec League Starter Pack

obsessive hand-care

do you have a Gemini placement that manifests anxiety through nervous hands? have you been biting your nails since you had teeth? may i suggest obsessively caring for and manicuring your nails instead of chewing them until they bleed? i’m talking about glass files and cuticle oil in every handbag and polish manicures once a week. something something idle hands..

physical sudoku book

starting your day with a tactile little number puzzle instead of scrolling the horrors does wonders for your eyes and your soul. no screen, smart brain, happy eyes, get to use a pen (erasable). make sure the puzzles are hand-crafted, computers absolutely suck at this. i am currently working my way through The Original Sudoku book by the editors at Nikoli Publishing (the Japanese publisher that invented sudoku)

learning to crochet

another rec for those busy nervous hands :))))) first of all it’s way easier than it seems; honestly understanding how to hold the yarn is the hardest part.. there are projects for every skill level and for every amount of mental involvement - this sweater was done in only rectangles and rounds.. no shaping, no counting, totally zen

homemade cuticle oil

remember those lip glosses we had in the early 2000s with the clickclickclickclick brush applicator? you can get empty ones and fill them with castor oil & a couple drops of essential oil. put one in every bag, drawer, car, stocking, gift bag, gym bag, you get the picture.. use mostly castor and a couple drops in any combination of the following essential oils: lemon, lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree, frankincense
