My Rec League Starter Pack

La Cartuja de Sevilla - Small Bowl in Rosa

Made in Seville, Spain since 1841. The absolute best for a latte, a bowl of salmorejo, or holding a block of Marseille soap. Unlike other flatter transferware, La Cartuja is made of earthenware, which is thicker and heavier yet still refined. Also, its colors, especially the rose and the teal, are stunning. Sadly, La Cartuja de Seville closed its factory last summer. But good news: thanks to the city of Seville’s investment, the factory resumed production on April 6, 2026.

Anchor Hocking 1932 Ribbed Refrigerator Container

Made in the USA. Why did Anchor Hocking ever discontinue these? They look great in the fridge, the heavy lids provide a near-airtight seal, and they are stackable. Thankfully, new and unused ones can often be found on Replacements.com and eBay.

Labour and Wait Tokyo Brown Bread Bin

Made in Austria, by Reiss, a family-owned company since 1690, in a carbon-neutral factory. It says BREAD, but let's be honest, it's really used to hold open bags of Torres Black Truffle Chips.

Peterboro Laundry Basket

Handmade in New Hampshire. Sturdy, easy to carry, and ages beautifully. Founded in 1854, Peterboro Basket Company is one of the oldest American basket manufacturers.
