Mystery Show, Case # 3 Belt Buckle (2015, Starlee Kine)
A whimsical, authentic and um, tactile story. Surprisingly moving ending, and a great theme song I still remember by heart. RIP
How I Built This, Stonyfield Yogurt
The plot twists of entrepreneurship are the mainstays of every How I Built This podcast with NPR's Guy Raz. I listened to these nonstop during Covid, and the Stonyfield Yogurt story was unbelievably gripping! Also Burton Snowboards, Bob's Redmill, Edible Arrangements, Five Guys, the Chicken Salad Chick, Southwest Airlines, Framebridge, Warby Parker. Zappos, Kate Spade, Chipotle, Away, Homeboy, KiwiCo, Anais Anais, Zumba, SoulCycle, Spanx, Stitch Fix, Teach For America, TOMS, so so many more! So inspiring, and such great interviews!
The kids show Yo Gabba Gabba featured artists like Mark Mothersbaugh (for drawing lessons), Jack Black, The Submarines and other great indie bands that will make a Xenniall heart happy. DJ Lance and friends' songs are also awesome and fun. We still launch into them at random moments. Also seconding They Might Be Giants "Here Come the ABCs". It's perfect.
Venty Fan
USB chargeable (and can act as a charger), has a light, remote control, carrying case, multiple levels and swivel action. I've brought it to pickleball, on boats, to the mountains, and sometimes just point it at me when I sleep. Quiet and fantastic.
