Owning a record player
(art Reklaminė afiša, Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museam) I love how music sounds, how it pops and fizzes. Having a limited physical selection. How listening romanticizes chores. Love to hear it accompany a picnic dinner on the floor with esoteric conversation. I have owned a record player for ~10 years and it features heavily in my families favorite memories ✨ I liked using my generous roommates setup so much when we moved out my partner and I got our own. Mine is great and it was new to me and gifted. I would have bought a used one if I was in charge - I’m not an audiophile and I don’t think it needs to be a specific model or very high end to create the experiences I enjoy.
Your dishwasher is better than you think (Technology Connections)
This video significantly improved dishwasher power in our house. It’s a great listen / occasional glance. I think the takeaways were make sure your water is warm before running/ “purge the line”, make sure your detergent is in the detergent slot and releasing or you will only have soap for a short pre-wash (aka throwing a pod into the machine), and we now use powder because you can control a lot more of that. Validating that my friend who worked designing dishwashers said they all test using cascade powder - I felt very proficient and impressive hearing that 😂
ILLIYOON - Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream
My face was so dry and dehydrated I can slather foot cream on woth no consequences. 3 years of this cream has me creeping into the “moderately dry” category, even days I forget to put it on. For on par with the best creams I have tried, and cheappp. I get the huge tubs on Stylevana generally they are sub $25, two last me a year. You can buy it lots of places Stylevana is just my Asian Beaty hg. I have never spent less time on my skin or had more compliments. It has a nice texture, rich, no scent, fixes/maintains my moisture barrier, calms my rosacea. I have slowly stopped using all other skincare it just kind of….does what I need. Tik top shop is rumored to have crazy deals, but I can’t be held accountable for the accuracy of that!
A bidet toilet attachment and a grabber claw thingy, and if you can your time
Ya butt hole and vagina have become unexpectedly close companions, so wiping can suck, and your abs are shredded so reaching can suck. Pain and birth can also be isolating - people helpfully came to do chore stuff but managing that m was tiring and made me feel “on”. Coming by with coffee or a meal and sitting, maybe bring like - a fun activity. House magazines or beading bracelets idk 😂 So much time managing everyone and baby talk - I like a little break and reminder that life exists beyond this moment in these 4 walls.
