Having a weekly Movie Club with your friends

I know we’re all busy! I know weekly sounds very demanding! But here me out, every Monday of the week you and a few close friends (max 8-10 or else people get too chatty and there’s no couch space) get together with snacks and watch a new movie. The rules: whoever is hosting that night gets to choose the movie and it has to be a movie that they have never seen before. It doesn’t matter if someone else has seen it, but might as well check Letterboxd and see 🤭 also make sure it’s streaming or be prepared to rent it or else panic ensues. I do this with my friends every Monday and it’s a cute way to bond with no alcohol involved, no in-depth conversation (which I love but sometimes it’s nice not to have to gossip for hours on end). If you’re really crazy like me, you add a rule where if someone bails three times without reason (being tired or wanting to stay cozy doesn’t count) they’re OUT. But that’s cause I’m serious about this shit.

Choosing an album to listen to front to back on a train ride

If you’re like me and need to listen to an album start to finish & treat it like a movie, being on the train is the way to do it. If you’re not travelling, find a reason to be! Go visit your mom for the sole purpose of listening to the new Phoebe Bridgers album in its entirety. A train offers you the visual stimulation you may need to truly turn a song into a cinematic experience! Look out at the countryside while Madonna is saying “EVERYBODY GET UP AND DANCE!” Although I’d probably recommend albums that aren’t meant for the dance floor. This also makes albums special cause they become timestamps, like buying a book on a trip to a new city!

She recently did an entire Madonna series where she broke down Madge’s entire career - film, music, you name it. It’s all about the art, not about the goss. And she invites gays with a Madonna knowledge like no other such as Patrick Sandberg & Mel Ottenberg! Who could resist? I now know every inch of Madonna’s artistic life.
