My dog, A’ja
Pure, uncomplicated love. She’s not perfect but she is in my eyes and I think that’s part of the gift. She reminds me how easy it is to keep loving someone even when they’re doing things that are frustrating and completely confounding.
Babette’s Feast
Oops, turns out that food is better than puritanically worshipping a Christian God! Babette’s cooking seems like a pretty great way to find that out!
Desert View Conservation Area
600 acres of nature preserve that’s dog and bike friendly. Tons of hiking trails and I’ve seen a lot of great wildlife here over the years(big horn sheep, tortoises, snakes, bob cats, coyote, etc). I give you this recommendation with the full trust that you will treat it with total respect because it’s my backyard and it’s one of my top 5 favorite places on earth.
John Coltrane covering My Favorite Things
It turns the Sound of Music song into a meandering, nearly psychedelic romp.
