One Hundred Years of Solitude
Top tier book. Would recommend. Probably the greatest work of Latin-Americn literature ever written. This was the first of many books by Marquez and other authors of the same genre that I read, but none come close to this one. The Netflix adaptation is also surprisingly good.
The Count of Monte Cristo
A classic. 100% would reccomend. It takes a while to read, but it is worth it in the end.
All the Pretty Horses (The Border Trilogy, Book 1)
I was surprised by how much I liked this book. It's not as almost gratuitously violent as some of his other works (Blood Meridian, etc.), and the prose is beautiful at times. It's also a pretty short book; would reccomend.
Ship of Gold in the Deep Blue Sea: The History and Discovery of the World's Richest Shipwreck
An interesting read with two simultaneous plot lines more than 100 years apart. Weaves together history, adventure, and science into one entertaining novel. Definitely one of my favorite books.
