Quarters New York
Quarters NYC — part store, part installation, entirely dangerous if you have any self-control to begin with. It’s the kind of place where everything feels slightly unexpected and annoyingly perfect at the same time—objects you didn’t know you needed, arranged in a way that makes you question your own home. You go in for a look and leave mentally rearranging your life.

The Bowery Hotel
The sort of place where time quietly stops mattering. I’ve lost more than a few nights here, settling in for “one drink” and resurfacing hours later, slightly disoriented and wondering how it’s suddenly 2am. It has that rare, Vegas-like quality of being able to loose your sense of time or bother looking at a clock. It has dim lighting, the perfect atmosphere of old New York, and just enough buzz that you never quite register the passing of time. You don’t go with a plan, and you definitely don’t leave when you meant to.

BDDW by Tyler Hays
Less a store, more a kind of quiet cathedral to good taste. It’s the sort of place where everything feels impossibly considered—handmade furniture, objects, lighting—all arranged like a series of rooms you want to live in immediately. You walk through slowly, partly because it deserves it, and partly because it makes you rethink what your own space could be. It’s not just shopping, it’s closer to wandering through someone’s very specific, very beautiful mind. Every corner is art. Every arm of a chair is considered and every floorboard feels like it has stories to tell about the painters and craftsman who have be involved in the making of this space.

Wild Cherry
A room that feels equal parts downtown and slightly transported. It has that low-lit, quietly buzzy atmosphere where everything—people, plates, even your drink—looks a bit better than it should. You go for dinner and end up lingering, because it’s doing that subtle thing good rooms do: making it very easy to stay. It's vibey, it's got some class, it's creative, you feel inspired and like at any moment Seth Meyers might walk in and order a dirty martini.
