Knowing thyself

Self improvement is great, but sometimes it’s best to just know thyself and plan accordingly. A few things I’ve learned about myself: You are currently not in a “meditation app” phase of life, do not sign up for the 7 day trial You will not hem it yourself, just take it to the tailor You like either a mini bag or a huge tote — your life does not lend itself to a medium-sized bag. Stop buying them You are more likely to use your evening skincare if you do it sitting in bed, so store it in your bedside table If the shoe is even slightly uncomfortable, you will never wear it again. No uncomfy shoes You are a pajama set person, not a nightgown person. Do not let Pinterest bamboozle you into thinking you are the latter again. You are not going to make that recipe you just pinned

Excellent sun hat under $60

Looks good, fits my huge head, packs nicely, holds its shape, and good for stroller walks while still looking elevated. The color "wine" is also a little unexpected in a sun hat which I kind of love.

Mom dating app

I have one coworker now, and she is an infant — so I’m getting p aggressive about making new mom friends. I’ve actually loved this app and have a few walks lined up for later this week! My advice: don’t wave, just jump in and chat.

Vacation pop-up hamper

As the Global Head of Laundry Solutions for the corporation that is my family, I have made executive the decision that we now use a laundry hamper when vacationing by car. Folds into nothing for the trip out, pop open, bring back full, and slide directly in front of machine when we get home. I’m excited for what other changes I will make during my tenure as GHLS.
