Shopping your house
When I have the urge to shop I rearrange my house and usually end up finding something I can use in an unexpected way. Take this credenza I had in my entryway collecting dust — now it’s a coffee and tea bar stocked for Winter. Same goes for organizing — instead of buying a bunch of plastic organizers, look through your cupboards for recycled glass jars, baskets, hooks and containers.
Standing Dates with Friends
My girlfriends and I have a biweekly standing date. We set up a calendar invite and assigned someone ahead of time for each week to plan something. It’s usually as simple as a dinner resy, happy hour location or a park hang. We don’t all make it every other week, but having a low pressure, scheduled hang on the books assures we get together every so often.
Tiny Bowls
Whenever I travel I buy a tiny bowl. They’re easy to stash in your luggage, and I can always find a use for one at home (jewelry dish, paper clips, guacamole).
Luna Linen Light Shade
This light combines two of my favorite things — a paper lantern and linen! Instantly warms up a space in a cool lived-in kinda way.
