This hand cream works (not just on hands!)

I've bought many expensive hand creams in a desperate bid to rid my hands of chapped, cracked knuckles and make the aging upper side look better. I've tried MANY and for me this stuff is the best. It's unscented, soaks right in with no greasy feel, and lasts for hours. I do like the original solid form, but the squeeze bottle format is admittedly convenient. Sidenote: A musician friend had part of her thumb mauled by a dog. The scars were awful and they kept cracking open. She swears this cream healed her. She used the solid formula.

Silicone bottle handle

I know, I know, lots of newer bottles come with a handle. But I still love my S'Well bottle because it's not too big and fits where I need it to fit (side pocket of my backpack, bottle holder in a car door, etc). This little handle was so inexpensive and it made me fall in love with my bottle all over again ;) .

Today I remembered this lovely quote from Thomas Turino's book, Music as Social Life: "For me, good music making or dancing is a realization of ideal— Possible— human relationships where the identification with others is so direct and so intense that we feel, for those best moments, as if our selves had merged. It is the sounds we are making, our art,that continually let us know that we have done so or that we are failing to achieve this ideal Being in seamless synchrony with others feels wonderful, and it is one of the main experiences that attracts me to musical performance again and again."

Earplugs that work

I know we're not supposed to put anything in our ears but... I can't sleep if my partner is snoring, there's noise outside, etc. I think putting in my earplugs is also a signal to sleep. I love that these are washable (no more buying disposable ones over and over, which wasn't very eco, either). And they won't go too far into your ear so you can stop worrying about that, too. They didn't have the sleep ones yet when I was in the market so I got the "Quiet" ones, but I'm interested to try them! BY the way I also have the ones for loud music or events. Love...
