Confessions On A Dance Floor (Non-Stop Mix) (2005)

genre: dance-pop/nu-disco favorite track: get together RAAAHH I LIVE, BREATHE, SLEEP, EAT, DRINK THIS ALBUM ITS SOO GOOODD!!! The production, the perfect transitions into each track, it is truly madonna at her best imo. Beyond that, the vibe she curated for this album and her confessions tour is just so perfect. I have this on repeat all the time @ work and im so happy to have found this one.

We Got It From Here... Thank You 4 Your Service (2016)

genre: hip-hop favorite track: conrad tokyo Hands down my down my favorite Tribe album out of their entire discography. Amazing tracks back to back with outstanding features both old and new (kendrick, elton john, jack white, anderson paak, bust rhymes, jarobi). The fact that this is their first album in 18 years (+ following a pretty meh album) and seeing them come back together with so much life, passion, creativity, and so much new content to bring to the table is so so so amazing. You just don't see that a lot with groups that take such long hiatuses, let alone a group that broke apart on bad terms. This album is full of political messaging (relevant to 1st term Trump-era America), a nostalgic old-school hip hop sound blended with new-school, and a bittersweet tribute to the late phife dawg who died during the album's production due to health complications. I hesitate to recommend this one to new tribe listeners because it relies on some bg knowledge about the group to fully appreciate it. "We Got It From Here..." is the most satisfying conclusion to a near-perfect discography.

Get Up (2023)

genre: k-pop/alt r&b favorite track: new jeans RIP newjeans you seriously could have been a great girl group. Short and sweet, the sound of this EP is sooo nostalgic and girly. I was a little biased against 3rd+ gen k-pop and "Get Up" snapped me out of that miserable mentality. They quite literally are the blueprint, with many 4th generation girl groups being heavily inspired by the sound they curated. I mourn that they have no (and probably never will have) official studio album, because their EP's show they had SO much to offer.
