Taiwan Pork Chop House
Some days you just wake up and want to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and eat a pork chop. You should listen to that impulse. Taiwan Pork Chop House is an institution in my opinion because it's one of the last places I ate before covid and my friend brought me a pack of his Costco toilet paper before things got really weird. There are tons of options for under $10 but you can't go wrong with the classic pork chop over rice for $8.75 which also comes with pickled vegetable and ground pork. And they give you some free hot tea as soon as you sit down. We must protect this place.

Caravan Chicken
Caravan Chicken has a no-nonsense sign on the front of the store that just says "Best Chicken & Spare Ribs". I can attest for the rotisserie chicken half of that claim. I got the 1/4 chicken with salad and fries for $11.21. The chicken is super juicy and flavorful and pairs well with the green sauce. There was a steady stream of customers but this place should've been shoulder-to-shoulder given how good the food was for the price. Eat your heart out Daily Provisions.

Margon
I've noticed a troubling trend of places changing more than what's listed on their menu. Seems like our sharpies literally can't keep up with inflation. This $15 which was supposed to be $14 Cuban sandwich is the gold standard so we'll just say it’s priceless. I've never had one in Miami but as with most things in Miami it's probably overpriced and likely to lose you your Airbnb deposit. There's a reason Margon continues to be considered one of the few tolerable places in Times Square.

Nili
One of my pet peeves is overly toasted bread that destroys your mouth and many BLTs suffer from this disease. Nili serves their $9 BLT on a pita which is a welcome innovation to me. The bacon was thick cut and slightly sweet (if you're into that kind of thing) and pickled onions were a nice addition making it just a few slices of avocado away from being a BLOAT.
