Ed Ruscha, Miracle (1999)
One of the most beautiful things in the world to me. I wish I could hang this in my home and look at it every day.

Slice of pizza from Luigi's (Dekalb Ave)
The best slice of pizza in Brooklyn is a plain or pepperoni slice from Luigi's pizza window on DeKalb. Show me otherwise! How do you even describe something that's perfect? The crust: no notes. The cheese-to-sauce ratio: dialed in. The sauce: not too sweet. Still the same friendly guy behind the counter who's been working there my entire life. Prices have gone up, like everything else in the neighborhood, but know you're paying for a quality slice. They also make the best garlic knots, which feel weirdly harder and harder to find these days. Yesterday they told me business slows down every summer when the nearby Pratt students leave town so go have a delightful slice from a neighborhood institution. I'd be LOST without them.

East of Eden
The writing is beautiful, the story is beautiful, the characters are beautiful. A deeply moving and layered generational epic. No book has stayed with me like this one, only Lonesome Dove has come close! My all-time favorite, I tell everyone I love to read it.

My Signature Scent
I feel like myself wearing this. For a longtime it was my only perfume, and if I could only wear one fragrance forever this would be it. People stop me in the street, at the grocery store, and on the dance floor to ask what perfume I have on. This scent is addicting, sexy, warm, and confident but not overwhelming. It's long lasting and lingers on car seats and clothes. For a longtime this was my only perfume, and if I could only wear one fragrance forever this would be it.
