Love a solo dinner where you don’t feel weird being solo. Also perfect spot for a post rain, fresh off a plane NYC evening. Had a perfect single oyster atop a shot of Guinness, a roast chicken leg with leeks and very elegant salad. The type of restaurant I’ll probably go back to time and again even though I should try new things.
Resident Evil
I have never seen a Resident Evil movie or played the video game and yet I kind of loved this. It’s gross as hell, full of jump scares and yet I was laughing the whole time. Maybe I have a crush on Austin Abrams, maybe Zach Cregger’s a genius. Probably both.
Stars NYC
Stars just got a major NYT write up so probably doesn’t need my rec. But maybe others need my rec to affirm the hype is worth it, and hype for a teeny tiny walk-ins only restaurant does not mean inaccessible. My dear friend and I nabbed the last bar seats at 8 on a Wednesday and enjoyed delicious wine and snacks. Get the deviled eggs, get the shrimp toast!
Sheet-Pan Feta With Chickpeas and Tomatoes
I’ve been making this nearly weekly for at least three years. I usually add some spinach or kale at the end for greenery. Works on its own or with some naan or lavash.
