It’s one of my favourite movies. Emotionally mature sci-fi. Decent science. And that’s the hill I’m prepared to die on.

Barcelona

I love Spain, I love Barcelona. There’s an ambiance in Spain I’ve not found anywhere else. I was lucky enough to spend two years in Spain (Almería and Catalonia). The location, the scenery, the attitudes, the food. I lived on a boat in Masnou for about a year while working in Barcelona city.

Modiphius Star Trek Adventures

I’ve been running a Star Trek Adventures campaign from just after The Motion Picture (2273?) to around 2287 or so. I plan to mothball their beloved ship in around 2296. They’ve been at the peripherary of galaxy shaping events and met legendary characters while being a lynchpin in the softening attitudes of the Klingons and Federation. This game captures Star Trek so well. Flexible and narrative, able to capture the hyper competence of Starfleets best and brightest while allowing them to be challenged. I highly recommend this game and even if you’re wary of 2d20, I’m happy to talk about what we did to smooth out some of the wrinkles.

Grange Hill

This TV series depicts life in a British comprehensive school starting in the late 1970s and continuing for over 30 series. It’s surprisingly compelling viewing - I’m watching some of the early series’. I’m watching it as research for Superpunk, a TTRPG set in the 1970s/1980s in Britain.
