Spír Candle Co. Restore – 14 oz Candle

My favorite candle company. They’re local and they provide jobs and mentorship for formerly incarcerated folks. Their booth is a highlight of the Ballard Farmer’s Market. All of their scents are perfect but this one is my favorite. Get the pillar, it’s beautiful to look at and you won’t regret it.

New Seasons Market Rosemary Sea Salt Focaccia Candle

If you are lucky enough to live in Oregon, run (do not walk) to your nearest New Seasons to buy this candle. The last time I was visiting it coincided with a 20% off sale on candles and I shamelessly loaded up my basket with their remaining stock of this scent. I’ve gifted this candle many times and get compliments on it whenever it’s burning in my house. Warm, slightly sweet, distinctly herby and bready…I’ll light this year round but I love it most in the fall and winter. I hope they never stop making this one.

Hinoki Fantôme Soy Blend Scented Candles

Basic? Maybe. But it’s a hit for a reason. I’ll take long breaks from buying anything from Boy Smells and whenever I come back, this is what I get and it’s like seeing an old friend again. The market seems to have a lot of hinoki scented things to tempt you with (and I’ve tried a lot of them!) but there’s something about this Boy Smells formula that is always a hit. It’s perfectly woody, a scent that travels (it doesn’t just die in the room you light it in) and instantly makes a room seem both welcoming and mysterious.

Queer Candle Co. Dark Plum Soy Candle

A new-to-me candle company! I noticed this in a shop on Vashon and loved so many of the scents that I panicked and hastily picked one to take home with me. It seems like it would be difficult to choose wrong. This scent is also on the warmer side, but I think it has a sweeter, fruity element that makes it good for year-round burning. 10/10 would buy again!
