The Age of Innocence (Edith Wharton)
A page turner in which almost nothing happens. Propriety erotica. An anti-society society novel. Core memory is watching a boyfriend read the last three pages and start to cry, which was when I realized he was in love with someone else. Thanks for the tip, Edith!
Dandelion Side Table
The perfect side table for fairy princesses painfully aware of death. I burn, I pine, I perish.
Davvero Gelato, Richmond VA
Good gelato, good politics. Try the ube.
We Have Always Lived in the Castle (Shirley Jackson)
Read the first paragraph and you’ll know. Short, sinister, and frankly genius work of interiority and weirdness, my favorite of hers. Prepare to be poisoned for all other voices.
