The glider I spend most of my waking (and some sleeping) hours in
Everyone says you “need a Glider.” I believed them, but didn’t realize just how much I would be living in this chair. 100% essential for newborn life. Don’t skip the ottoman either.
At least one extra set of sheets
Because in Newbornland, everything is somehow always wet or damp. It’s a marvel, really. Put off laundry a little longer by having at least one extra set at the ready.
This baby “nest”
Makes it easy to move baby from room to room without disturbing her cozy nap. I have found it so helpful even in my 700 SF apartment. Made by a Swedish brand called Najell that I’ve yet to see infiltrate the baby-industrial-internet complex — and makes me feel like I’m Scandi-chic even though I’ve only worn pajamas for the last two weeks.
Instant Spa tablets for your shower
Ok wow. I can’t sing the praises of these humble white discs loud enough. You pop one right on the shower floor and within seconds the water starts turning the tablet into the most delicious eucalyptus steam. Seriously intoxicating and relaxing. Feels like the kind of important little luxury we must always treat ourselves to, especially in the midst of the marathon that is keeping a small human alive.
