McMenamins Edgefield

I am biased — I worked onsite for 8 years. But it truly is a wonderland for adults. Multiple restaurants, pubs tucked all over the place, lovely gardens, artwork and history, golf, brewery, spa, theater, distillery, what’s I miss? It is unparalleled. And also not fancy — arrive, get a beer, have a walk around the place, roll with the vibe.

Dog Mountain

This hike is great if you want to absolutely hate your decision to do it, the entire way up. And then! — views, amazing oxygen, patting yourself on the back, and back down the way you came. Well done. It is a bucket list hike in the Columbia River Gorge, so may as well get it over with. Enjoy!

Ferment Brewing

The outside deck usually has a 4:1 dog to human ratio. I’m a cat person, yet in this space, beer in hand, it all feels right. The view is great, the yurts they put up in winter are great, beer is great.

This stuff is the best. Glides on, not too sticky, smells like grapefruit, lasts on the skin as well as in the tube for a long time.
