Updating to add: the Long Beach location just expanded to include a dine-in option and it's so much more than I dared to hope for. Not just a spot to sit and meet a friend for coffee and croissants (delightful), it's now a legit whole restaurant with daily brunch and dinner service, and it's delicious.

Not doing party favors (for your kid's birthday or otherwise)

Save your money, save your time, save the planet, save my sanity. I love when my kids are invited to birthday parties. I am HAPPY to buy a birthday present and come eat a slice of pizza or cake while my kid plays. Please do not give my kid a bag of goodies. We do not need them! The party IS the favor!

Everyone loves Didion, but especially 18 year olds from California doing assigned reading at NYU (complementary).
