Happy birthday!
If it all possible, I take my birthday off from work and go on an adventure - if I can make it an overnight trip, even better. I choose a place I’ve been curious about that fits my time/money budget. A small museum, a famous writers birth town, whatever. A friend or a partner can come but I’ve had great ones on my own. It relieves any pressure for the day to be a certain way because I’m outside my usual norms and I don’t need it to look a certain way. I answer birthday calls and texts throughout the day and feel connected to and loved by other people that way. I’m follow my own whims throughout the day and I feel really aligned and present with myself.

If you find yourself in the west. I do not drink whiskey and I loved it. This place made me finally understand why there are Irish bars in cities all over the world - because you want to feel like you do in this place. It feels like friendship might break out at any moment with any other person there. The owner is a legend and the 6th generation of her family to run it.
