Marguerit Mail Club (bi-monthly)
I’ve had pen pals on and off since childhood and the highlight of any regular day is receiving really good mail. I’ve just discovered the world of snail mail clubs. Paying to get beautiful, thoughtful mail is my midlife crisis Ferrari. If I could only pick one, though, it would be Margquerit. The stickers are artful and lovely. Each letter also includes a postcard and other lovely ephemera. 💌
Le Petit 3
A monthly newspaper with no news. Le Petit 3 is published in English and created in Paris. Every month revolves around a theme explored through essays on art and philosophy, gorgeous photography, a recipe (neroli bergamot syrup), and some soulful stargazing. May’s theme is amazement, encapsulated by this Mary Oliver quote in that month’s issue, “if you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give into it.”
Omoi Life Goods
Saying this is a stationery store is underselling it. Omoi Goods is a shop in Old City, Philadelphia, that sells, yes, great pens, journals, and washi. But also hand-selected books and magazines, housewares, clothing, and even a free, printed guide to Philadelphia. If you’re visiting Philly or live nearby, this is an essential stop.
Mad Men's Relevance in 2025
Don’t ask me for tv show recommendations because all I do is rewatch Mad Men.
