Rotating Chore Night
I recently instituted a weekly chore night with 2 friends/neighbors. We swap houses every week and do the chores we've been dreading. Not only is it extremely efficient when it's my night, but it has also solved some of the "I really need to do x" that plays on a loop in my brain. Now the menial tasks have a designated evening. We keep it low pressure, and if no one else can make it, I still have the evening bookmarked to get things done. When I first approached my friend about this as a possibility, I was nervous that it would feel like another overwhelming thing to add to the calendar. Turns out, she wanted the help just as badly as I did! We have done tons of laundry, made up beds, organized closets, scrubbed floors on our hands and knees, wiped baseboards, dusted, hand washed sweaters, cleaned many hundreds of dishes, rearranged rooms, hung art, etc. I could go on and on, but this has genuinely changed my life.
