Be Ready When the Luck Happens (Ina Garten)
I already loved Ina (and several of her recipes that I swear by). But, even if I didn't, this book would have sealed the deal. It's such a lovely read and account of her persistence, chutzpah, and, of course, love story with Jeffrey. I loved being transported to the beginnings of Barefoot Contessa, where I could picture Ina hustling and building her empire.
Save Me the Plums (Ruth Reichl)
If you love food and reminiscing about publishing in the '90s, this one delivers on all fronts. Also, who doesn't like the occasional biscuit recipe woven in?
Kitchen Confidential (Anthony Bourdain)
It's hard to read this without feeling grief, but I still recommend it all the time. Also, after reading this, I never order fish on Mondays anymore.
Strangers (Belle Burden)
